NsHL Toronto Maple Leafs & Marlies

Welcome to the home of the NsHL Toronto Maple Leafs and AsHL Toronto Marlies.

Updated rosters for the Leafs and Marlies will be updated after the completion of the NsHL Entry Draft on Sunday, July 10, 2011.

A Brief History of the Current Regime

Current GM Jade Graber assumed control of the  struggling franchise early in the 2008-09 season. The team had a 4-8-1 record and a history of missing the playoffs. After hiring Graber the Leafs went on a 9 game losing streak before things began to turn around. A brief run of success allowed the Leafs to flirt with making the playoffs, before hitting another losing skid just weeks ahead of the trade deadline. A few veterans were moved and the club auditioned a few youngsters down the stretch, missing the playoffs once again. The AsHL Marlies did not fare any better. During the off-season of 2008-9 the Leafs moved several draft picks and made a few trades. Ron Wilson was hired to coach the Leafs and Jim Schoenfeld will guide the Marlies. An infusion of young talent including Bobby Ryan, James Neal, and Nikolai Kulemin, from the already well stocked prospects list was expected to help the Leafs vie for a playoff spot, but again they fell short. The Marlies were dominant all season, but bowed out in the first round of the playoffs. The off-season in 2010 has been huge for the club. They acquired veterans Tomas Holmstrom and Steve Eminger in trades, and then signed free agents Daniel Alfredsson and Arron Asham. The expectation is for them to not only make the playoffs, but to do some damage once they get there.
